Avoid unnecessary engine idling

Upload a photo of the engine oil added during break-in

Check engine air intake system hoses and hose clamps (A) for tightness

Check and adjust drive belt tensions (A). Do not pry on alternator cover. Pry only on mounting brackets.

Check and retighten wheel-to-rim (A) and axle (B) bolts after first 3 and 10 hours of operation.

Change engine oil and oil filter (A)

Change transmission filter (A) if filter change has not already been required by monitoring system

If hydraulic functions are slow, replace hydraulic oil filter (B)

Sign off on the 100 Hourly Maintenance

CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL. With tractor parked on level ground, remove dipstick (A) and check oil level. Oil level should be between two marks on dipstick. If needed, add oil recommended in Fuels and Lubricants section in filler hole (B).

CHECK COOLANT LEVEL. Remove radiator cap (A) and check coolant level. Coolant level should be approximately 3-3/4 in. (95 mm) below top of filler neck. If coolant level is low, check for any signs of leakage and repair if necessary. Check all hose clamps for tightness. Add 50 per cent soft water ethylene glycol type, antifreeze mixture specified in Service section.

CHECK TRANSMISSION-HYDRAULIC OIL LEVEL. With tractor on level ground, remove dipstick (A). If oil level is below the "safe" zone, remove filler cap (B) and add hydraulic oil under Transmission-Hydraulic Oils specified in Fuels and Lubricants section.

DRAIN FUEL TANK SUMP. Open drain fitting (A), and drain small amount of fuel from tank until free of water or sediment.

LUBRICATE REAR AXLE BEARINGS when tractor is operated in extremely wet conditions. Apply 12 to 15 shots of High Temperature/Extreme Pressure/Non-Clay grease to each fitting (A). If other greases are used they should meet specifications given under Extreme Pressure Grease in the Fuels and Lubricants section.

LUBRICATE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS on tractors equipped with adjustable front axle, when operating in extremely wet conditions. Replace plug (A) with grease fitting. Continue 10 hour lubrication until wheel bearing can be cleaned and repacked. Use Extreme Pressure, Non-Clay grease as specified in Fuels and Lubricants section. Refer to 1200 hours service for repacking instructions.

LUBRICATE AXLE PIVOT PIN (A), STEERING SPINDLES (B), AND TIE RODS (C) when operating tractor in extremely wet or dusty conditions. Apply several shots of grease to each fitting. Lubricate with Extreme Pressure, Non-Clay grease specified in Fuels and Lubricants section.

LUBRICATE DRIVE-LINE U-JOINTS (A) AND STEERING KNUCKLES (B), when operating MFWD equipped tractors in extremely wet or dusty conditions. Apply grease until NEW grease appears at all four seals of U-joints. Use Extreme Pressure, Non-Clay grease, specified in Fuel and Lubricants section. Do NOT use Arctic grease with specification requirements per MIL-G-10924C.
