Deck Lift Spring Tension (E and M Series Machines) Maintenance
Park machine on a hard, level surface.
Stop the engine and lock the park brake.
Raise the mower deck to the transport position.
Lift the operator seat and lock into position.
Measure length (A).
Turn the hex nut (B) clockwise to increase the spring tension.
Turn the hex nut (B) counterclockwise to decrease the spring tension.
Sign off on the spring tension maintenance
Before Each Use Maintenance
Check engine oil
Park machine safely
Allow engine to cool
Clean area around dipstick before removing it
Remove dipstick and wipe it clean
Install dipstick in tube, but do not screw onto threads
Check oil level on dipstick; make sure that oil level is between the ADD and FULL marks
If oil is low, add oil to bring oil level no higher than the FULL mark on dipstick
If oil level is above the FULL mark, drain to the proper level
Motion Control Levers Maintenance
Warning: Park machine safely before starting the procedure
Are both motion control levers moved forward?
Are the control levers equally aligned?
If position of control levers are unequal, an adjustment is necessary
Are the locknuts (A) loosened?
Are both left and right motion control levers moved to desired position on control arm until levers are aligned?
Are the locknuts tightened?
