Flush Cooling System and Replace Thermostat

Drain coolant from radiator and engine block

Flush system with Radiator Cleaner

Check transmission-hydraulic system oil level.

1. Remove dipstick (A) and wipe it clean. Insert dipstick fully. Oil level should be between full mark and end of dipstick.

2. Add oil if level is low. (See Anti-Chatter Transmission-Hydraulic oil in Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant section).

3. Rotate clevis (D) as necessary to obtain the specified free play.

4. Tighten jam nut and install clevis and clip pin.

Replace transmission/hydraulic filter

Lubricate front axle wheel bearings (2WD)

Check air restriction indicator performance.

Repack front wheel bearings (2WD).

1. Jack up front end of Tractor.

2. Remove hub cap, cotter pin, and wheel nut.

1. Raise hood and remove side screens.

3. Open drain valve (B) and drain coolant.

5. Remove cap screw (A), and pull coolant pipe (B) from

6. Remove two caps screws and thermostat housing (C).

Change primary and secondary air filter elements.

Check unloader valve condition.

Change transmission/hydraulic oil and Filter.

1. Lower rockshaft to remove trapped oil.

2. Remove drain plug from transmission case (A) and drain out oil.

3. If equipped with MFWD axle, also remove drain plug (B) in drop housing.

4. Replace filter (C) while changing oil. Apply a film of oil to new filter gasket and install new filter. Hand tighten only.

5. Refill system with transmission-hydraulic oil. (See Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant section).

6. Wait 5 minutes and check oil level at dipstick (D).
