Check transmission-hydraulic system oil level

Measure oil level in axle housing

Add John Deere HY-GARD® Gear Lubricant or its equivalent if level is low

Clean and tighten connections if needed

Open the hood by unlocking the key. (See Remove Side Screen in Service section.)

Clean out any dirt in canister taking care not to damage the secondary filter element

Removal of the secondary element (D) is similar to removal of the primary element

Install secondary element, primary element and cover

Replace fuel filter-For Inline Pump Filter

Retaining ring (C) and filter removed?

New filter installed with retaining ring hand tight?

Fuel shut-off opened and air bled from filter?

Replace transmission-hydraulic filter

Transmission-hydraulic filter replaced?

Sign off on the 500 Hourly Maintenance

Alternator/fan belt tension checked?

Air intake and cooling system hose clamps tightened?

Sign off on the 50 Hourly Maintenance

Change transmission-hydraulic oil and filter

Lower rockshaft to remove trapped oil

Remove drain plug (A) from transmission case and drain out oil

Remove drain plug (B) in drop housing

Replace filter (B) while changing oil

Fill system with transmission-hydraulic oil

Check oil level at dipstick (D)\\sight glass after filling, and again after operating for five minutes

Clean transmission-hydraulic pickup screen
