10 Hourly Maintenance
Lubricate axle pivot pins, steering spindles, and tie rods with several shots of grease (10 fittings) specified on page 89.
Grease front wheel bearings daily only if tractor has been in extremely wet conditions. Continue 10 hour lubrication until bearings can be cleaned and packed. Use grease specified on page 90.
Remove radiator cap and check coolant level. It should be 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) above the baffle located in the radiator top tank. Add clean water or antifreeze as needed.
Remove dipstick and check engine oil level. If low, add oil specified on page 88.
Check fuel filter for sediment or water. If any is present drain it out and bleed air from lines. See page 113.
Lubricate wide-swing drawbar rollers with several shots of grease (if equipped with wide-swing drawbar). Use grease specified on page 89.
Lubricate grease fittings on ends of rear axles and radius rod pivot on Hi-Crop tractors with several shots of grease specified on page 89.
Sign off on the 10 Hourly Maintenance
1200 Hourly Maintenance
Have your John Deere dealer clean filter in main hydraulic pump.
Was the filter in main hydraulic pump cleaned?
Drain final drive housings on Hi-Crop tractors.
Were the final drive housings drained?
Disassemble front wheel bearings (except power front-wheel drive) and clean parts in a safe solvent.
Were the front wheel bearings disassembled and cleaned?
Remove drain plug from transmission case and drain out oil.
Was the drain plug from transmission case removed and oil drained out?
Remove hydraulic pump suction screen after draining out oil.
