Replace Open Crankcase Ventilation Filter (Final Tier 4/Stage V 6.8 L Engine)

Pull hood release (A) and raise hood.

Check mark

Remove filter lid (A).

Check mark

Remove open crankcase ventilation filter from inside the filter housing (B).

Check mark

To install new filter, align tabs on the new filter with tabs on inside of the filter housing.

Replace lid and hand tighten.

Check mark

Replace Open Crankcase Ventilation Filter (Final Tier 4/Stage V 9.0 L Engine)

500 Hourly Maintenance

Check mark

Change planetary hub oil-R4030, R4045, and R4060

Check mark

Drive machine at 40 km/h (25 mph) or above for 15 —20 minutes.

Check mark

Park machine on a flat, level surface.

Check mark

Allow hubs to cool to a point that the oil can be handled safely (approximately 30 minutes).

Check mark

Rotate hub until casting arrow is pointed to two o'clock position (A)

Check mark

Remove drain plug (B) and drain oil into a suitable container.

Check mark

Reinstall drain plug. Tighten to specification.

Check mark

Remove the fill plug (C).

Check mark

Remove fill level plug (D).

Air system pressure relieved by opening valve (A)

Desiccant cartridge (A) removed and discarded

Top surface of the adapter plate and threaded stud cleaned

Light coat of grease applied to O-ring and installed on the adapter plate

Generous coat of grease applied to the surface of the new desiccant cartridge gasket
