Filter Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect filters in system and replace or clean as required

Cooler Tube Examination and Cleaning

Wash out all chemicals thoroughly with clean water

Examine the cooler for erosion or corrosion after cleaning

Internal Cooler Tube Cleaning Methods

Select the method used for cleaning internal cooler tubes

Loosen filter element with the correct tool

Remove the element from the housing

Place the old element in a sealed bag and dispose of safely

Clean the mating face of the housing

Remove the new Ingersoll Rand replacement element from its protective package

Apply a small amount of coolant to the element seal

Screw the new element down until the seal makes contact with the housing, then hand tighten a further half turn

Stop the cooling blower by opening the blower / fan motor circuit breaker.

Record the discharge temperature

Did the machine trip at 109C (228F)?

If the machine did not trip, describe the fault and actions taken

Apply a small amount of coolant to the element seal

Screw the new element down until the seal makes contact with the housing, then hand tighten a further half turn

Ensure compressor is isolated from the compressed air system and vented of all pressure.

Use certified lifting equipment and employ sound working principles.

Lock off and tag the main power disconnect switch.

Visually check if a complete cleaning of the cooler is required.

Is the cooler covered with oil, grease, or other heavy substances?
