NOTE: On some sea water cooled models the oil cooler and after cooler are fitted with sacrificial zinc anodes (pencils) that are located in the end bonnets of the coolers. These sacrificial zinc anodes should be checked after the first 50 hours of operation to determine if corrosive conditions exist. If satisfactory this interval may be extended to 500 hours.

Is the sacrificial zinc anode 50% corroded?

Coastal/harbour waters can contain corrosive chemicals from pollution and may reduce anode/cooler life.

Effects of corrosion or erosion are specifically excluded from warranty considerations.

Sign off on the 500 Hourly Zinc Anode Check

Sign off on the zinc anode check

Is the coolant visible in the sight glass while the machine is running on load?

Is the coolant level between the middle and the top of the green section of the sight glass?

Did you run the compressor for a minimum of 40 seconds before stopping?

Did you add coolant until the level is up to the mid-point of the sight glass?

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Scavenge tube disconnected from the airend

Fitting that secures the scavenge tube to the separator tank cover loosened

All piping disconnected from the separator tank cover

Setscrews securing the cover to the tank removed

Complete cover assembly removed

Warning: Heavy cover- use lifting equipment.

Used element withdrawn and placed in a sealed bag

Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this procedure.

Position a suitable container under the drain plug.

Drain plug removed and coolant completely drained?

Additional coolant removed from the airend discharge tube and oil coolers?

Drain plug replaced and compressor refilled?

CAUTION - DO NOT MIX OILS WITH ULTRA COOLANT.

Compressor started and checked for leaks?
