Stop engine before starting the maintenance

NOTICE – Do not run engine without air cleaner or with dirty element.; Engine damage caused by using a damaged element is not covered by the warranty.

Precleaner cleaned with soap and water solution and allowed to air dry completely?

1 tablespoon SAE 30 oil spread evenly into precleaner and excess oil squeezed out?

Element replaced if damaged, dirty, or oily?

Sign off on the maintenance

8 Hourly Engine Driven Welder / Generator Maintenance

Check fuel and oil levels

Clean oil and fuel spills

Check all fluids daily. Engine must be cold and on a level surface. Unit is shipped with 10W-30 synthetic blend engine oil.

Follow run-in procedure in engine manual.

This unit has a low oil pressure shutdown switch. However, some conditions may cause engine damage before the engine shuts down.; Check oil level often and do not use the oil pressure shutdown system to monitor oil level.

Fuel

Open left side access door.

NOTICE – Engine flooding may occur if fuel level is above Max Fill Level on tank.

Add fresh fuel before starting engine the first time (see maintenance label for specifications).; Stop fueling when fuel level reaches Max Fill Level on tank. Do not top off tank.

Maintenance Label: Useful part numbers for different engine models

Spark plug: MILLER: 067007, Kohler: 1213202-S, Champion: RC-12YC, Gap: 0.030 in. (.76 mm). Use only resistor spark plugs and wires.

Tune-up and Filter Kit: CH730: MILLER: 230015, ECH730: MILLER: 284083, CH730 LP: MILLER: 252838 (Includes Air, Oil and Fuel Filters, and 2 Spark Plugs)

Check and replace weld cables and spark plugs

Check and clean slip ring; To be done by factory authorized service agent

Check and replace brushes; To be done by factory authorized service agent
