Hayward Butterfly Valve BYV11040A0EL000

Ensure the system is depressurized and drained

Inspect valve for external damage

Check flange bolts for correct torque

Refer to Table 1 for recommended flange bolt torques

Use a torque wrench to uniformly tighten nut to approximately 8 ft*lbf (10.8 N*m) in an alternating sequence

Continue alternating tightening until the recommended flange bolt torque is achieved

Verify the proper tightening sequence molded into the valve body

3.1 Replacing Valve Disc and/or Liner and Seals

Ensure safety precautions are followed

Read the relevant sections to familiarize with the valve

Reference section 6 for identification of parts

Remove the gland using an extra deep socket

Remove the upper bearing from the stem

Check for proper valve operation

If leaks are present or valve does not perform properly, refer to troubleshooting guide

Depressurize and drain system prior to performing any maintenance
