Oil Filter Lubrication
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Oil reservoir removed from the pump body?
End cap unscrewed using a strap wrench, pipe wrench or adjustable pliers?
Oil filter element removed from the filter body?
Inside of the filter housing and the filter end cap cleaned?
New oil filter element (p/n 94-3059), O-ring and the end cap installed?
Oil reservoir replaced and gasket seated properly between the reservoir and the top flange?
Sign off on the oil filter lubrication
1 Monthly CNC Horizontal Machining Center Maintenance
Check oil level in gear box
Inspect way covers for proper operation
Lubricate with light oil, if necessary
Place a dab of grease on the outside edge of the guide rails of the tool changer
EC-400 Clean the locating pads on the A-axis and the load station
Sign off on the CNC Horizontal Machining Center Maintenance
6 Monthly CNC Horizontal Machining Center Maintenance
Replace coolant and thoroughly clean the coolant tank
Check all hoses and lubrication lines for cracking
Check the rotary A-axis. If necessary add oil (Mobil SHC-630). The correct oil level is halfway on the sight glass
Lubricate the following parts using red grease
Lubricate the Arm Shaft using Moly grease
1 Yearly CNC Horizontal Machining Center Maintenance
Gearbox Oil Replacement
Drain the oil from the bottom of the gearbox
Remove inspection cover beneath spindle head
Add oil slowly from top until oil begins dripping from overflow tube at bottom of sump tank
For 50 taper spindles, add oil from the side of the transmission
Oil Filter Check
Check oil filter and clean out residue at bottom of filter
SMTC Oil Level Check
Check SMTC oil level in sight glass
TSC Maintenance
Warning: This maintenance check requires trained personnel with PPE!
Check the dirt indicator on the 100-micron mesh filter with the TSC system running and no tool in the spindle. Is the indicator in the red zone?
If the indicator is in the red zone, change the element.
Clean the pump intake filter when indicator is in the red zone. Is the indicator reset?
After changing or cleaning filter elements, run TSC system with no tool in spindle for at least one minute to prime system.
Is the coolant level up?
Warning: Use of coolants with extremely low lubricity can damage the TSC coolant tip and pump.
Warning: Increased maintenance schedules are absolutely required with abrasive swarf. The coolant must be changed more often and the tank thoroughly cleaned of sediment on the bottom. An auxiliary coolant filter is recommended.
Warning: When machining castings, sand from the casting process and the abrasive properties of cast aluminum and cast iron will shorten pump life unless a special filter is used in addition to the 100 mesh suction filter.
