Gather necessary cleaning and maintenance materials

Check for moisture or dirt accumulations on parts

Was the source of moisture or dirt located and eliminated?

Is there any paint deterioration?

Does the fan have special coatings?

Fasteners and Setscrews Inspection

Check all fasteners and setscrews for tightness

Does the propeller rotate freely without rubbing on the fan panel venturi?

Is the propeller rotation direction correct according to the rotation decal?

Momentarily turn the unit on to check propeller rotation direction

Calculate proper belt deflection

Measure belt deflection using thumb pressure

Loosen fasteners on motor plate

Slide motor plate to adjust tension

Clean the exterior surface of the motor

Ensure no water or solvents enter the motor or bearings

Disconnect, lock, and tag power source before servicing

Refer to the paragraph on bearings for bearing lubrication

Check motor type for lubrication needs

Oil motor with oil holes according to manufacturer's instructions

Grease motor with grease fittings according to manufacturer's instructions
