Accessing the Energy Recovery Core

Disconnect the power to the ECV

Removing the Energy Recovery Core

Remove energy core access doors

Gently vacuum the surfaces of the core to remove dirt and debris

Check all dampers for proper operation

Check backdraft dampers by hand to ensure blades open and close freely

Apply power to motorized dampers

Does the actuator open and close the damper as designed?

Inspect the bulb seal for any visible damage or wear

Is the bulb seal intact and properly seated on the door frame?

Clean the bulb seal to remove any dirt or debris

Apply lubricant to the bulb seal if necessary

Describe any issues found during the inspection

Inspect fan impeller for fatigue, corrosion, or wear

Inspect fan housing for fatigue, corrosion, or wear

Clean the fan wheel and housing if oil and dust accumulation is observed

Check all fasteners for tightness

Check all set screws and locking collars for tightness

Is the fan operating smoothly and safely after inspection?

Check that all filters are in place

Is the weatherhood option installed?

Have the filters been cleaned prior to start-up?

Rinse filters with mild detergent in warm water

Are the filters reinstalled correctly?

Record the date of maintenance completion
