Ensure the motor is powered off and disconnected from the power source

Remove dust from the motor housing using a dry cloth or brush

Wipe off grease build-up from the motor housing with a dry cloth

Ensure no water or solvents have entered the motor or bearings

Check that the motor housing is clean and free of dust and grease

Verify that the motor bearings are intact and undisturbed

Inspection and Maintenance Record

Record inspection and maintenance performed

Check for moisture or dirt accumulations on parts

Describe source of moisture or dirt and actions taken to eliminate it

Measure the motor’s voltage, amps and RPM

Check Exhaust Fan Motor Voltage and Overloads

Lock-out the gas supply to the unit

Lock-out the electrical power to the unit

Filter Cleaning and Replacement

Identify the type of filters installed

Are aluminum mesh filters installed?

Wash aluminum mesh filters in warm soapy water

Apply adhesive spray to aluminum mesh filters to increase efficiency

Lock-out the gas and electrical power to the unit

Check for oil and dust accumulation on the supply wheel

Clean the supply wheel and housing if oil and dust accumulation is found

Clear snow away from roof mounted units

Ensure snow is clear of the intake and access doors
