Calculate proper belt deflection

Measure belt deflection at midpoint

Loosen fasteners on motor plate

Fasteners and Setscrews Inspection

Check all fasteners and setscrews for tightness

Does the propeller rotate freely without rubbing on the fan panel venturi?

Is the rotation direction of the propeller correct when the unit is momentarily turned on?

Rotation Direction Verification

Does the propeller blade cup and throw the air correctly when rotating?

Is the rotation in the same direction as the rotation decal affixed to the unit?

Disconnect, lock, and tag power source before servicing

Ensure all safety equipment is in place

Inspect bearings for wear and damage

Check locking collars and setscrews for tightness

Verify fasteners attaching bearings to the bearing plate are tight

Determine environmental conditions

Disconnect, lock, and tag power source before servicing

Refer to the paragraph on bearings for bearing lubrication

Is the motor equipped with oil holes?

Oil the motor according to the manufacturer's instructions using high grade SAE 20 machine oil

Is the motor supplied with grease fittings?

Grease the motor according to the manufacturer's instructions

Clean exterior surface of the motor

Ensure no water or solvents enter the motor or bearings

Ensure motors or bearings are not sprayed with steam or water
