Remove capscrews securing top bowl to intermediate bowl

Slide discharge bowl and top bowl off the pump shaft

Pull shaft out as far as possible

Strike impeller hub using a taperlock driver to drive the impeller off the taperlock

Insert a screwdriver into the slot in the taperlock and spread it open

Slide the taperlock and impeller off the pump shaft

Repeat the procedures until the bowl assembly is completely disassembled

Clean all pump parts thoroughly with a suitable cleaner

Check bearing retainers for deformation and wear

Check shafts for straightness and excessive wear on bearing surfaces

Is the average total run-out less than 0.0005” TIR per foot and not exceeding 0.005” T.I.R. for every 10 feet of shafting?

Visually check impellers and bowls for cracks and pitting

Check all bowl bearings for excessive wear and corrosion

Is the mechanical seal secured to the shaft?

Has the thrust been installed if the pump has a thrust pot?

Turn the adjusting plate (613) to adjust the impeller.

Refer to the Outline Drawing for the specific unit and note the correct adjustment.

Is the liquid temperature between -50º to ambient conditions?

Has the pump surface temperature reached equilibrium for liquids in excess of the range?

Cut two 'V' shaped grooves on the impeller wear ring

Knock the end of one half of the ring out and pry the ring off

Machine the wear ring off for special materials

Check that all the parts are in place

Verify the securing method for turbine bowl impellers

Match mark bowl assembly in sequence of disassembly

Follow procedures applicable to the construction supplied
