Check for 'CHANGE AIR FILTER' message display

Inspect the filter element for cleaning necessity

Remove the wingnut and pull out the filter element

Soak the element in warm water with mild nonsudsing detergent for 15 minutes

Rinse the element thoroughly with clean water (max 40 psig/2.8 Bars)

Inspect the element for ruptures or cracks in the pleated media

Inspect the gasket on the bottom (outlet end) of the element for damage

Change the compressor lubricant. Flush system if required.

Fill the system with a 50 percent charge of the new lubricant

Allow the machine to run about five minutes at temperature, then shut down

Change to a new filter and separator

Fill the system with a full charge of the new lubricant and reinstall drain plug

Select the method used to drain the oil system

Was the oil drained when hot to prevent varnish deposits?

Is the drained oil and/or oil filter element contaminated with dirt?

Flush the following components if contamination is present

Inspect the oil separator elements for dirt accumulation and replace if necessary

Contact the factory for recommendations if varnish deposits exist

Ensure the unit is completely off and no air pressure is in the oil reservoir.

Disconnect, tag, and lockout power supply to the starter.

Remove screws holding the top plate to the separator housing.

Lift the top plate from the separator housing.

Lift the separator from the separator housing.

Separator Inspection and Replacement

Inspect the separator and o-ring for damage.

Check for dirt accumulation on components

Clean the exterior fin surfaces of the cores
