Oil Separator Maintenance

Warning: Ensure the unit is off and all system pressure is relieved before starting.

Gasket material removed from the top of the plate or separator housing, and new gasket installed

Separator lowered into the housing and centered on the chamfer. Separator pressed down into the housing without excessive force.

Spacer placed on the indent in the separator. Top plate seated to the separator, spacer and separator housing. All cap screws installed and tightened.

Motor Lubrication

WARNING: Rotating machinery can cause injury or death. Open main disconnect, lockout and tagout power supply to starter before working on the electric motor.

Remove the relief plug and free hole of hardened grease

Wipe lubrication fitting clean and add grease with a hand-operated grease gun

50 Hourly Air Filter Element Service

Warning: Use only genuine Gardner Denver air filter elements on Gardner Denver compressor units.

Warning: Do not oil this element. Do not wash in inflammable cleaning fluids. Do not use solvents other than water. Improper cleaning may damage the element.

Warning: Never operate the unit without the element. Never use elements that are damaged, ruptured or wet. Never use gaskets that won’t seal. Keep spare elements and gaskets on hand to reduce downtime. Store elements in a protected area free from damage, dirt and moisture. Handle all parts with care.

Remove the wing nut and pull out the filter element.

Visually inspect the element. If cleaning is not necessary, reinstall the filter element.

If the element requires cleaning, wash the element by soaking about 15 minutes in warm water with a mild non-sudsing detergent.

Rinse the element thoroughly with clean water; a hose may be used if the water pressure does not exceed 40 psig (2.8 bar).

Inspect the element for ruptures or cracks in the pleated media; replace the element if any are found.

Inspect the gasket on the bottom (outlet end) of the element; replace the entire element if the gasket is damaged.
