Surface debris removed from the coil?

Cleaning agent applied uniformly across the substrate?

Rinsed off the salts with a hose?

Is the refrigerant sight glass clear?

If the sight glass is not clear, there might be inadequate refrigerant charge in the system.

Is there bubbling refrigerant in the sight glass during stable run conditions?

Bubbling refrigerant may indicate an EXV problem or excessive pressure drop in the liquid line.

Select the color of the element inside the sight glass

If the sight glass does not indicate a dry condition after about 12 hours of operation, an oil acid test is recommended.

Is the sight glass on the EXV body for refrigerant charging clear?

The sight glass on the EXV body is for viewing the position of the valve, not for refrigerant charging.

Monthly operations include all weekly operations.

- Inspect unit for loose or damaged components and visible leaks

Electrical ( * including the VFDs):

- Visually inspect components for signs of overheating

- Verify compressor and oil heater operation

- Check filter-drier pressure drop. Replace the filter if pressure drop exceeds 20 psi.;

- Water strainer installed on evaporator, 0.125” (3.2mm) or smaller perforations

- Water System filled, flushed and vented

- Pumps installed and operational (rotation checked, strainers cleaned)

- Controls operational (3-way valves, face/bypass dampers, bypass valves, etc.)

- Water system operated and tested; flow meets unit design requirements

- Flow switch installed and wired

Enter the Saturated Oil Temperature

Oil sump check is set to Ready when: Discharge Temperature > Saturated Oil Temperature + 5°C

Oil sump check is set to Not Ready when: Discharge Temperature < Saturated Oil Temperature + 4.5°C
