10 Hourly / 1 Daily Drive Axle Oil Level Check

WARNING! Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin

Start and operate the lift truck until the engine reaches normal operating temperature

Check mark

Park the lift truck level with the forks lowered, parking brake applied and the transmission controls in NEUTRAL

Check mark

With the service brake applied and the engine at low idle, shift the directional control lever to forward and then to reverse, to fill the clutches

Shift the direction control lever to the NEUTRAL position

Check mark

Remove the dip stick/filter cap. Observe the oil level

Check mark

Maintain the oil level between the Min and Max marks on the dip stick/filter cap. (Based on oil temperature of about 40 degrees)

500 Hourly / 3 Monthly Crosshead Rollers Inspection

Operate the mast through a lift cycle

Watch the chains move over the crosshead rollers

Check mark

Make sure the chain is tracking over the rollers properly

Check for damaged crosshead rollers, guards and retainer rings

Sign off on the crosshead rollers inspection

Note: Forks should be inspected, at a minimum, every 12 months. If the truck is being used in a multi-shift or heavy duty operation, they should be checked every six months.

Inspect the forks carefully for cracks

Special attention should be given to the heel section, all weld areas and mounting brackets

Inspect the top and bottom hooks on forks used on hook type carriages and tubes on shaft mounted forks

Forks with cracks should be removed from service

Check the angle between the upper face of the blade and the front face of the shank

Check mark

Check the straightness of the upper face of blade (D) and the front face of shank (E) with a straight edge

Check mark

Check the difference in height of one fork tip to the other when mounted on the fork carrier

Check mark

Check the fork blade (J) and shank (H) for wear with special attention to the heel (G)

Check the precleaner bowl for dirt build-up
