Refrigerant Shortage Check

In case of VRV Systems, the only way to judge as the shortage of refrigerant is with operating conditions due to the relationship to pressure control and electronic expansion valve control.

As information for making a judgement, refer to the information below.

Diagnosis of shortage of refrigerant

1. The superheating degree of suction gas rises. Consequently, the compressor discharge gas temperature becomes higher.

2. The superheating degree of suction gas rises. Consequently, the electronic expansion valve turns open.

3. Low pressure drops to cause the unit not to demonstrate cooling/heating capacity.;

Broken Wire Check

Warning: Ensure the power supply to all equipment is turned OFF before starting the procedure.

Power supply to all equipment turned OFF?

Short circuit between the indoor-outdoor unit terminal F1 and F2 in the outdoor unit.

Short circuit between the indoor-outdoor unit terminal F1 and F2 in the outdoor unit completed?

Conduct continuity checks between the transmission wirings F1 and F2 of the indoor unit a that is farthest from the outdoor unit using a multimeter.

Continuity check between the transmission wirings F1 and F2 of the indoor unit a completed?

Is there continuity between the said transmission wirings?

If there is no continuity, the transmission wiring may have broken wires. With the indoor-outdoor unit terminal of the outdoor unit short circuited, identify the place with continuity in the transmission wiring of the indoor unit b, transmission wiring of the indoor unit c, and transmission wiring of the indoor unit d in the order described.
