Remove the screw, then the drip proof plate.
Cut the clamp.
Pull out the indoor heat exchanger thermistor.
Remove the screw of the earth/ground wire.
Remove the screw of the wire fixture.
Remove the 4 screws of the connecting wires.
The position of the indoor heat exchanger thermistor varies depending on the model. Be careful not to lose the clip of the thermistor.
Disconnect the connector [S1].
Indoor Heat Exchanger Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
In pump-down work, be sure to stop the compressor before disconnecting the refrigerant pipe. If the refrigerant pipe is disconnected with the compressor operating and the stop valve open, air may be sucked in and may generate an over-pressure in refrigeration cycle, thus resulting in pipe rupture or accidental injury.
When removing or reinstalling the indoor heat exchanger, be sure to wear gloves or wrap the indoor heat exchanger with cloths. (You may be injured by the fins.)
Caution: Be sure to conduct pump down operation before disassembling the refrigerant pipe.
If the refrigerant leaks, repair the spot of leaking, then collect all refrigerant from the unit. After conducting vacuum drying, recharge proper amount of refrigerant.
From the viewpoint of global environmental protection, make sure to use a vacuum pump for air purging.
Unscrew the flare nut for gas piping and liquid piping and disconnect both pipes.
Hold the indoor unit up with a piece of wood.
Place a plastic sheet around the drain pan to prevent wetting the floor with remaining drain.
Swing Motor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. Remove the swing motor for horizontal blades.
1) Remove the screw.
2) Remove the swing motor.
2. Remove the swing motor for vertical blades.
Remove the swing shaft.
1) Remove the swing shaft on the right side.
2) Remove the 2 screws and detach the swing motor assembly.
Some models do not have the swing motor assembly.
Vertical Blade ASSY Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. For auto-swing (right and left) models
Some models have fan guards. Remove the fan guards beforehand.
The unit has 3 sets of vertical blade ASSYs linked to one another with interlock rods.
1) Release the right and left shafts.
2) Unfasten the 3 hooks for each set of vertical blade ASSY (9 hooks).
3) Pull the vertical blade ASSYs to the right and remove them.
2. For models without autoswing (right and left)
Each vertical blade ASSY has 5 or 6 fins which can not be replaced individually.
