Air Filter Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Open the front panel.
Release each air filter from the 2 hooks of the front panel.
Remove the air filter by pulling out downward.
The air filter is not marked for difference between the right and left sides. Insert the air filter with the “FRONT” mark faced up.
When reassembling, insert the air filter along the guides.
Be sure to fasten the hooks when installing the air filter.
Remove the Titanium apatite photocatalytic air-purifying filter, if available, from the 5 hooks.
The right and left filters are interchangeable. Some models have no Titanium apatite photocatalytic air-purifying filter.
Fan Motor / Fan Rotor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Remove the 2 screws
Lift and remove the right side plate
Remove the screw, and then the fan motor fixing plate
Insert the fan motor allowing for approx. 5 mm (0.2 inch) of play
Tighten the fan rotor screw until it stops. Then give the screw one more turn
If the fan rotor rotates appropriately, tighten the screw completely
Loosen the screw of the fan rotor
Remove the fan motor
Electrical Box Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Remove the screw, then the drip proof plate.
Cut the clamp.
Pull out the indoor heat exchanger thermistor.
Remove the screw of the earth/ground wire.
Remove the screw of the wire fixture.
Remove the 4 screws of the connecting wires.
The position of the indoor heat exchanger thermistor varies depending on the model. Be careful not to lose the clip of the thermistor.
Disconnect the connector [S1].
Vertical Blade ASSY Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. For auto-swing (right and left) models
Some models have fan guards. Remove the fan guards beforehand.
The unit has 3 sets of vertical blade ASSYs linked to one another with interlock rods.
1) Release the right and left shafts.
2) Unfasten the 3 hooks for each set of vertical blade ASSY (9 hooks).
3) Pull the vertical blade ASSYs to the right and remove them.
2. For models without autoswing (right and left)
Each vertical blade ASSY has 5 or 6 fins which can not be replaced individually.
Swing Motor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. Remove the swing motor for horizontal blades.
1) Remove the screw.
2) Remove the swing motor.
2. Remove the swing motor for vertical blades.
Remove the swing shaft.
1) Remove the swing shaft on the right side.
2) Remove the 2 screws and detach the swing motor assembly.
Some models do not have the swing motor assembly.
