Did you unplug the charger from the battery charge port when charging was complete or the battery was fully charged?

Did you read the instructions for the charger and power source?
Did you ensure that the charger has the correct voltage and amperage for the power source?

Battery connector, battery terminals, and battery cables checked for damage
Battery compartment checked for spilled acid
Water level checked and vent caps are in place
Battery retainers on both sides of the truck are properly installed
All wheels are in good condition
Both forks are secure and not bent, cracked or badly worn
Lift chains and anchors checked for damage and corrosion
Lift chains are well lubricated
Load backrest is in place

Is anything metal touching the top of the cells?
Is an approved spreader bar used to place a battery on, or remove it from a stand?

Are the battery retainers properly adjusted to prevent the battery from shifting?

Test drive in an uncongested area

Steering ease and smoothness
Slow drive in both directions
Full speed range drive in forward and reverse
Braking and plugging distances in forward and reverse
Report any issues to your supervisor

BEFORE CHARGING POWER SOURCES: Read the instructions for the charger and power source. Make sure that the charger has the correct voltage and amperage for the power source. Only charge a power source in an authorized area.
