1 Weekly Engine Check
NOTE: The following Routine Maintenance schedule is based on an engine usage rate not exceeding 2 hours per month. For UL/FM engine models, also refer to NFPA25
Weekly Engine Check
While the engine is running inspect exhaust pipe outlet outside of the pump room itself for environmental hazards such as excessive smoke conditions. The following could be used as a guide for general engine operating conditions
Engine Smoke Condition
IMPORTANT!
• Set main pump controller to “OFF” while servicing engine. Before turning the main pump controller to the OFF" position
• Also, alert the local fire department in the event that the main pump controller is connected by silent alarm to headquarters
• When servicing is complete, return main pump controller selector to Automatic" position and the mode selector on the engine to “Automatic” position. Advise the appropriate personnel the engine has been returned to the “Automatic”"
Sign off on the weekly engine check
2 Yearly Engine Replacement

Air Cleaner replaced
Batteries replaced
Belts replaced

Engine Spped Adjustment
Start the engine by following the “To Start Engine” Procedure in this manual
Engine started successfully?
Let the engine warm-up. Loosen the jam nut(s) (Figure #38)
Jam nut(s) loosened successfully?
While observing the instrument panel tach rotate the long adjustor clockwise to lower the RPM and counter clockwise to raise the RPM’s until desired speed is obtained. Ref. Figure #38
Enter the RPM reading
Holding secure the long adjustor with a wrench tighten the jam nut
Jam nut tightened successfully?
Stop engine by following “To Stop Engine” Procedure in this manual
1 Yearly Engine Oil Change
Warning: Ensure the engine is warm before starting the procedure
Engine operated until warm?
Stop the engine and remove the sump drain plug
Sump drain plug removed?
Tighten the plug to 34 Nm (25lbf-ft) / 3.5 kgf-m
Sump filled to the ‘FULL” mark on the dipstick with new and clean lubricating oil of an approved grade?
Return the unit back into service by returning the AEC selector to “automatic” position and the manual operating lever to manual stop position
Unit returned back into service?
Dispose used oil properly
