Cepheid Molecular Analyzer System GX-IVR2

Ensure all tests have finished running

Turn off the GX-IV instrument and the computer following the instructions in Section 5.2, Getting Started

Reposition the instrument for easy access to the filter

Gently remove the prefilter retainer using fingers at the corners

Remove and discard the old prefilter from the prefilter retainer

Remove the HE filter retainer by releasing the clips on sides, top, and bottom

Tilt the GX-IV instrument to remove and discard the old HE filter

Read Section 9.4, Guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfecting

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

Remove cartridge(s) from the module(s) to be cleaned

Open GeneXpert Dx System and navigate to Maintenance screen

Select Plunger Rod Maintenance and choose Clean All option

Ensure all materials are available

Have all tests finished running?

Is the GeneXpert instrument and computer powered down?

Is there sufficient rear access to the instrument?

Slide the instrument for better access if needed

Fan Filter Removal and Replacement

Gently remove the fan filter guard by unsnapping it from the fan housing

Ensure all tests have finished running before moving the instrument.

Turn off the GX-II or GX-IV instrument and the computer.

Gently move the instrument if needed for access.

Fan Filters under Filter Guards

Reposition the instrument for easy access to the fan filter.

Remove the fan filter guard by unsnapping it from the fan housing.

Remove the dirty filter for cleaning.

Place a clean filter into the fan filter guard.

Click the Maintenance icon in the GeneXpert Dx System window

Refer to Figure 9-36 for guidance

Click on Maintenance on the menu bar

Select Exclude Modules From Test from the menu

Select the module(s) to be excluded from test
