1200 Hourly / 6 Monthly Hydraulic Return Oil Filter and Wash Strainer Replacement

WARNING! Hot oil components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact your skin. At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and can be under pressure.

Remove the battery and tank cover.

Remove the gasket and return oil filter. Discard the filter element.

Clean the filter parts and replace the seal and gasket, if necessary. Install a new filter element.

Put the filter body assembly back in place and tighten the retaining bolts.

Park the lift truck on a level surface with the forks lowered, parking brake applied, transmission in NEUTRAL, engine stopped and the wheels blocked.

Remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain. Remove the cover, the O-ring seal and the strainer.

Check mark

Wash the strainer and the plug in clean, nonflammable solvent. Dry the strainer and the plug. Wipe off the O-ring seal, check and replace if necessary. Install the strainer, the O-ring seal, and the cover. Put the drain plug back in place.

Remove the floor plate.

Remove the filler cap. Fill the transmission with oil. See Refill Capacities. Put the filler cap back in place.

Start the engine.

Run the engine at low idle.

Stop the engine.

Warning: If acid gets in your eyes, FLUSH THEM IMMEDIATELY WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER AND SEE A DOCTOR AT ONCE.
