Hydraulic / Hydrostatic Filter Replacement

Stop the engine, open the rear door, and remove the rear grille

Remove the hydraulic fill cap and unhook the two rubber straps

Raise the hydraulic fluid cooler until the support bar drops into position to support the hydraulic fluid cooler

Remove the right side access cover bolts and remove the access cover

Replace the fluid in the hydraulic reservoir

Adjust the engine valve clearance

Spark Arrester - Empty spark chamber

Battery - Check cables, connections, and electrolyte level; add distilled water as needed

Engine Oil and Filter - Perform every 100 hours when operating under severe conditions. Replace oil and filter.

Operate the engine until coolant reaches normal operating temperature. Stop the engine.

The oil drain hose is located behind a cover (Item 1) under the rear of the loader (Inset) [Figure 10-110-3]. Loosen one cover mounting bolt and remove the other bolt (Item 2) [Figure 10-110-3] to allow the cover to swing open.

Remove the oil drain cap (Item 1) [Figure 10-110-4] from the oil drain hose and drain the oil into a container.

Recycle or dispose of used oil in an environmentally safe manner.

Install and tighten the oil drain cap [Figure 10-110-4].

Install the cover and the cover mounting bolts [Figure 10- 110-3]. Tighten both bolts.

Engine Oil - Check level and add as needed.

Engine Air Filters and Air System - Check display panel. Service only when required. Check for leaks and damaged components.

Engine Cooling System - Clean debris from radiator, hydraulic fluid cooler, air conditioning condenser (if equipped) and rear grille. Check coolant level COLD and add premixed coolant as needed.

WARNING: AVOID INJURY OR DEATH. Wear safety glasses to prevent eye injury when any of the following conditions exist: • When fluids are under pressure. • Flying debris or loose material is present. • Engine is running. • Tools are being used.

Loaders With Air Conditioning - Use low air pressure or water pressure to clean the top of the air conditioning condenser.

Loaders Without Air Conditioning - Use low air pressure or water pressure to clean the top of the hydraulic fluid cooler.

All Loaders - Unhook the two rubber straps. Raise the hydraulic fluid cooler until the support bar drops into position to support the hydraulic fluid cooler. Use low air pressure or water pressure to clean the top of the radiator.

Check the cooling system for leaks.

Fuel Filter - Remove the trapped water.

Park the loader on a level surface, lower the lift arms, and put the attachment flat on the ground or tilt the Bob-Tach fully back if no attachment is installed.

Check the fluid level in the sight gauge

Open the rear door and remove the rear grille.

Add fluid as needed to bring the level within the operating range in the sight gauge

Rear grille installed and rear door closed?

Sign off on the daily fluid check

WARNING: AVOID INJURY: Do not remove engine coolant cap when the engine is hot. You can be seriously burned.

IMPORTANT: AVOID ENGINE DAMAGE: Always use the correct ratio of water to antifreeze.

NOTE: The coolant fill cap must be tightened until the cap clicks.

Engine stopped and rear door opened

Coolant fill cap (Item 1) [Figure 10-90-7] removed

Coolant drain plug (Item 1) [Figure 10-90-8] removed and coolant drained into a container

Coolant drain plug reinstalled and tightened

New coolant mixed in a separate container

Premixed coolant added to the coolant tank until the coolant level reaches the lower level marker on the tank (Item 2) [Figure 10-90-7]
