Record the date and amount of oil added

Check Oil and Shaft Seal Temperature

Record the oil temperature in the crankcase

Record the shaft seal housing temperature

If shaft seal housing temperature exceeds 170 F, STOP THE COMPRESSOR. DO NOT restart until the cause of overheating has been identified, and the condition corrected.

Warning: Always ensure the machine is off and cool before performing any maintenance tasks.

Enter the difference between oil pressure ahead of filter and after filter (before orifice elbow)

Does the difference exceed 5 psig?

If the difference exceeds 5 psig, follow the steps below to change the filter:

Close oil-line shutoff valves on each side of filter

Disconnect oil lines at filter connections

Loosen filter bracket; remove and replace filter body

Note: The full-flow oil filter, on 5H120 and 5H126 compressors only, contains a replaceable cartridge.
