Cover the instrument with the dust cover after every use.

Ensure the instrument is not exposed to ultraviolet radiation without protection.

Is the microscope installed in a room with humidity less than 75%?

Cover open tubes with the dust caps.

Remove dust and loose dirt from visible optical surfaces using appropriate tools.

Remove water-soluble dirt by blowing on it and wiping it off with a cloth.

Allow for sufficient cool-down time

Remove the plug-in power unit from the socket

Press down the clamping lug of the cover and remove the cover from the stand

Loosen both fastening screws of the transmitted-light illuminator by pressing against the spring and turning them 90° clockwise

Pull the transmitted-light illuminator out of the stand

Pull the halogen bulb out of the lamp carrier

Interpupillary Distance Adjustment

Rotate the eyepiece tubes symmetrically to adjust interpupillary distance

Swivel the eyepiece tubes upward or downward to adjust viewing height

Adjust the tube angle for Primovert with ergotube

Adjust the microscope for brightfield

Select the phase-contrast objective

Condenser and Diaphragm Adjustment

Open the aperture diaphragm completely using the lever on the condenser

Introduce the slider into the condenser for phase stop position

Ensure the slider is in the correct detent position

Adjust the illumination intensity as needed
