Clean the battery contacts and those of the device before installation

Install the battery with correct polarity (+ and -)

Dispose of used batteries properly according to local regulations

Test the smoke alarm at least once a week

Is the smoke alarm free from excessive dirt, dust, and grime?

Clean the smoke alarm if the green power LED flashes 2 times every minute

Push and release the Test/Silence button on the cover until you hear a 'chirp'.

Did you hear a loud, repeating horn pattern: 3 beeps, pause, 3 beeps, pause, while the red smoke LED flashes?

Did you hear a loud, repeating horn pattern: 4 beeps, pause, 4 beeps, pause, while the red CO LED flashes?

Test each unit individually in a series of interconnected units.

Did all units alarm when each one was tested?
