Turn off control stop using a flat head screwdriver by turning clockwise.

Use the electronic override button to flush the water out of the flush valve.

Ensure the strap wrench and locking ring are completely dry for optimal grip.

Mark the original position of the locking ring relative to the valve body with tape or marker.

Was the locking ring loosened using the strap wrench?

If unable to loosen, remove the valve cap from the valve head as shown in Step 4.1 & 4.2 of the Battery Installation Section.

Use the supplied strap wrench or a large wrench on the flats of the locking ring to loosen it.

Clean chrome plated surfaces with mild soap and water

Dry chrome plated surfaces after cleaning

Ensure no abrasive or chemical cleaners are used

Ensure sensor lenses are protected from cleaning chemicals

Maintenance for Cold and Freezing Conditions

Remove stop valve cap and internals to drain water from flush valve

Place a piece of cardboard or a light-colored target at desired detection range away from sensor

Ensure target is positioned correctly for water closet applications

Place the Zurn Magic Magnet on top flat surface

Did the red status LED illuminate continuously for 5 seconds?

Did the status LED quickly flash and then begin flashing once a second?

Ensure target is in position no later than the end of the 2nd flash after the first quick flashes

Take the additional locking ring from the retrofit kit box and thread it onto the valve body to ensure the threads match.

Did the additional locking ring thread onto the valve body successfully?

Diaphragm Kit and Valve Cap Removal

Remove the diaphragm kit from the valve head if attached.

Remove the valve cap from the valve head following Steps 4.1 & 4.2 of the Battery Installation Section.

Removing and Installing Locking Ring

Using a Phillips head screwdriver, turning counter clockwise remove the 3 mounting screws shown in Figure 19 and remove the ring insert from the manifold.

Remove the existing locking ring from the manifold and install the new locking ring onto the manifold.

Turn off control stop using a flat head screwdriver by turning clockwise.

Use the electronic override button to flush the water out of the flush valve.

Ensure strap wrench and locking ring are completely dry for optimal grip.

Mark down locking ring's original position relative to valve body.

Uninstall valve head by loosening locking ring using strap wrench, turning counter-clockwise.

Choose the maintenance action for the diaphragm kit
