Adjust blower speed to specific static and CFM requirements

Adjust belt tension to specific static and CFM requirements

Sheave Alignment and Set Screws

Tighten blower pulley set screws

Tighten motor sheave set screws

Have the set screws been re-checked after 10-12 hours of run time?

Gas Connection and Pressure Check

Open the main shut-off valve to admit normal gas pressure to the mains.

Check all joints for leaks using soap solution or other suitable material. NEVER USE A FLAME.

Was a commercially available soap solution used for leak detection?

Caution: Review installation for errors, leaks, or undesirable effects

Check for installation errors, leaks, or undesirable system effects

Verify blower speed changes are made by qualified personnel

Calculate new datum diameter (DD)

Adjust the variable pitch motor sheave to the new datum diameter (DD)

Check BHP and AMP draw of the blower motor

Confirm adherence to fan laws during blower speed changes

Connect a manometer to the outlet pressure port on the gas valve

Adjustment of Second Stage Pressure

Remove cover screws covering HI and LO pressure adjustment screws

Set thermostat to call for second stage heat and start furnace

Enter the manifold pressure for second stage (100% input)

Is the manifold pressure for second stage within 3.5 IWG ± 0.3?

Loosen six nuts (top and bottom) A

Ensure nuts (C) are not loosened

Use belt tension checker to apply a perpendicular force to one belt at the midpoint of the span

Enter the deflection distance obtained

Enter the deflection force applied

Re-tighten nuts (A) after adjusting
