Fill the tub with water to immerse the thermometer tip at least 10.2 cm (4 inches) deep.

Place the stem tip of a calibrated thermometer next to the tip of the Whirlpool thermometer.

Is the reading on the Whirlpool thermometer the same as that of the calibrated thermometer?

Adjust the external adjustment screw (a) to match the Whirlpool thermometer reading with the calibrated thermometer, if necessary.

Ensure re-calibration is performed at least every 12 months or as needed.

Ensure cleaning materials are ready

Do not use abrasive compounds or applicators such as metal brushes

Avoid contact of steel wool with stainless steel surfaces

Avoid cleaning products with strong acids or halogens (chlorine, fluorine, bromine, iodine)

If strong products were used, was the exposure brief (less than 15 minutes)?

Thoroughly rinse stainless steel surfaces of all residue after using strong products

Turn the turbine power switch (13) off to stop water circulation

Draining without separate drain pump

Connect hose to drain valve (15)

Rotate pressure control valve (11) counterclockwise

Drain the tub following the draining instructions above.

For tubs greater than 75.7 L (20 US gallons), prepare the turbine

Fill the bucket or tub with water so the bottom of the turbine is at least 15.2 cm (6 inches) below the surface of the water.

Add a disinfectant solution to the water per manufacturer’s instructions.

Ensure the pressure control valve is in the open position.

Turn on the turbine for 5 seconds and turn it off.

Drain the tub following the draining instructions above.

Verify that the turbine is off.

Remove any loose objects or debris from the Whirlpool tub.

Disinfect the tub using a stainless steel hard surface disinfectant with one of the recommended cleaning materials.

Clean the tub using a mild soap solution with one of the recommended cleaning materials.

Rinse the tub thoroughly prior to use.
