Compressor Replacement
Pre-Replacement Notification
Notify VilterTM prior to performing a compressor replacement
Removal
Shut down and isolate the compressor unit
Disconnect all cables from sensors on compressor and actuators
Remove coupling guard
Remove drive coupling
Remove center member
Remove bolts securing C-flange to compressor
Oil Separator Coalescing Filter Replacement
Safety Precautions
Ensure adequate ventilation and refrigerant vapor detectors are in place as per ASHRAE standards.
Wear rubber gloves and a face shield to avoid skin contact with condensate or oil.
Use appropriate lifting devices and ensure they are capable of lifting the weight of the component.
Removal
Isolate the compressor unit.
Install lifting eyes on oil separator manhole cover, if required.
Secure appropriate lifting device to oil separator manhole cover.
Remove all bolts except top four bolts securing oil separator manhole cover to oil separator vessel.
200 Hourly Oil Filter Replacement
Safety Precautions
Ensure adequate ventilation and refrigerant vapor detectors are in place as per ASHRAE standards.
Wear rubber gloves and a face shield to avoid skin contact with oil.
Preparation
Shut down the compressor unit as per the Stopping/Restarting procedure in Section 4.
Isolate the compressor unit as per the Compressor Unit Isolation procedure.
Drain Oil From Isolated Oil Line
Close oil supply valve and oil filter outlet valve.
Remove plug from drain valve on oil pump strainer.
1 Daily Compressor Unit Maintenance
Check oil levels
Check all pressure and temperature readings
Check micronic oil filter inlet and outlet pressures for excessive pressure drop
Is the pressure drop across the micronic oil filter greater than 45 psi?
Clean strainers each time filter cartridge is replaced
Check compressor sound for abnormal noises
Check shaft seals for excessive oil leakage
Is the oil leakage from shaft seals within the normal range (6 to 15 drops per hour)?

Parts Required
Ensure all required parts are available
Removal
Isolate the compressor unit
Drain oil from oil separator
Select heater cartridge type for removal
Remove heater cartridge from thermowell
Heater Cartridges with Turck connectors
Disconnect Turck connector
