1 Yearly Separator Maintenance

Check mark

Warning: High-pressure hazard. Relieve all pressure from the separator/sump tank and all compressor lines.

Check mark

Disconnect all piping connected to the separator cover plate.

Check mark

Loosen and remove the twelve (12) hex head capscrews(5⁄8 in × 21⁄2 in) and lock washers from the cover plate.

Check mark

Lift the cover plate from the separator/sump tank.

Check mark

Remove the separator element.

Check mark

Scrape any old gasket material from the underside of the cover plate and the separator/sump tank flange.

Check mark

Inspect the separator/sump tank for rust, dirt, etc.

Check mark

Insert a new separator element into the separator/sump tank taking care not to dent the element against the tank opening.

Check mark

Replace the cover plate, lock washers and capscrews. Torque to140 ft·lbs. (190 N·m).

Filter Maintenance

Check mark

Replace your fluid filter element under any of the following conditions, whichever occurs first:

• As indicated by the STS Controller.

Check mark

• Every fluid change.

Check mark

1) Fluid filter element replacement

Check mark

1. Using a wrench, remove the filter canister.

Check mark

2. Remove and dispose of filter element. Observe all laws and regulations for filter disposal.

Check mark

3. Clean gasket seating surface.

Check mark

4. Apply a light film of fluid to the element seal.

Check mark

5. Install the element into the filter canister.

Is the maintenance gauge showing red with the compressor running full load?

Check mark

Has it been a year since the last maintenance?

Check mark

If either of the above checks is true, proceed with the following steps.

Check mark

Clean the air filter’s exterior housing.

Check mark

Release the hold-down clips and remove the end cover.

Check mark

Remove the air filter element by pulling it out of the housing.

Check mark

Clean the housing interior with a damp cloth. Do not blow dirt out with compressed air.

Check mark

Replace the element.

Check mark

Reassemble in the reverse order.

Replace the fluid filter element

Pull oil sample for analysis

Check air filter. Change if necessary

Sign off on the air compressor maintenance

Drain the separator/sump tank and change the compressor fluid using instructions shown below:

Lubricant:; Sullube® (7.2 gal / 27.3 L): Fluid change - E, Fluid filter change - G, C, Separator change - I, D

PristineFGTM (7.2 gal / 27.3 L): Fluid change - H, E, Fluid filter change - G, C, Separator change - B, D

B—4,000 hours or more frequently if conditions so require.

C—When measured pressure loss exceeds 20 psig (1.3 bar).

Check mark

D—When measured pressure loss exceeds 10 psig (0.7 bar).

Check mark

E—When required by fluid analysis or known contamination.

Check mark

F—Does not require replacement during normal service conditions.

Check mark

G—Every 2,000 hours.
