Trap Inspection
Preparation
Ensure the trap is properly isolated
Relieve any remaining pressure in the trap by opening the blowdown valve on the upstream strainer
Has the trap cooled down?
Disassembly
Remove the drain plug or crack the body-cover joint to drain remaining condensate
Remove and save the cover bolts
Remove the body or cover
Cleaning and Inspection
Air Vent Testing
Air Vent Removal and Testing
Remove the air vent for testing
Test the air vent for proper operation
Is replacement of the air vent necessary?
Gasket and Trap Reassembly
Remove all traces of the old gasket from the body and cover
Ensure gasket surfaces are clean and undamaged
Reassemble the trap using a new cover gasket
Tighten the cover bolts to the specified torque (refer to page 3)
