Observe the 'Safety information' in Section 1

Inspect for wear and tear and replace if necessary

Replace high temperature graphite packed seals

Replace all soft seals and gaskets

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly

Check for stainless steel galling

Ensure valve is depressurised and clear of media

Remove the actuator from the valve

Unscrew the stuffing box nuts (18)

Undo and remove the bonnet nuts (27)

Remove the bonnet (2) and plug and stem assembly (8)

Observe the 'Safety information' in Section 1

Take care when dismantling or reassembling stainless steel valves to avoid galling or cold welding

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly if application permits

Replacement of Graphite Gland Packing

Remove components and replace with new items if necessary

Clean and examine components for damage or deterioration

Stainless Steel Valve Handling Precautions

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts if application permits

Lift out the seat retaining cage (5)

Remove and discard the seat back gasket (7)
