Warning for Stainless Steel Valves

Take care to avoid galling or cold welding of stainless steel parts.

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly if application permits.

Ensure valve is depressurised and clear of media, and isolate it both upstream and downstream.

Remove the actuator from the valve.

Unscrew the stuffing box nuts (18).

Observe the 'Safety information' in Section 1

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts if application permits

Replacement of Graphite Gland Packing

Remove components and replace as necessary

Ensure groove is clean and undamaged

Inspect the valve for wear and tear, replacing any worn or damaged parts

Apply a light smear of PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly, if application permits

Replace high temperature graphite packed seals

Replace all soft seals and gaskets whenever the valve is disassembled
