Stainless Steel Valve Handling Precautions

Apply a light smear of PTFE based grease to mating parts if application permits

Lift out the seat retaining cage (5)

Remove and discard the seat back gasket (7)

Observe the 'Safety information' in Section 1

Ensure valve is depressurised and clear of media

Isolate valve both upstream and downstream

Remove the actuator from the valve

Unscrew the stuffing box nuts (18)

Undo and remove the bonnet nuts (27)

Remove the bonnet (2) and plug and stem assembly (8)

Observe the 'Safety information' in Section 1

Inspect the valve for wear and tear, replacing any worn or damaged parts

Replace high temperature graphite packed seals

Replace all soft seals and gaskets

Apply a light smear of PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly

Apply PTFE based grease to mating parts before reassembly if application permits

Replacement of Graphite Gland Packing

Remove components and replace with new items

Ensure groove is clean and undamaged
