Intercommunication System Inspection
Initial Setup
Connect the DC power supply and the auxiliary source to the Chamber.
Turn on the auxiliary source.
Power Supply and Control Panel Check
Check the Power Supply and connections
Is the DC Power Indicator illuminated?
Is the Low Battery Indicator not illuminated?
Control Panel Speaker and Volume Check
Turn the Master Control Knob to the On position.
1 Yearly Chamber Preventive Maintenance
General Guidelines
Ensure maintenance is performed within 9 to 15 months of service
Verify that all maintenance tools and materials are prepared
Gas Supply Inspection
Inspect gas supply for contamination
Is the gas supply free from hydrocarbons?
Filter and Mechanism Cleaning
Check that all filters and mechanisms are clean and free of hydrocarbons
Clean all filters and mechanisms if necessary
6 Monthly Chamber Pressure Gauge Inspection
Connect a calibrated pressure gauge to one of the IV Ports on the Chamber Door
Turn the Master Control Knob to the On position
Adjust the Purge Flow Rate to 320 lpm
Adjust the Rate Set Knob to 3.0 psig/min
Adjust the Set Pressure to 5.0 psig by turning the Pressure Set Knob clockwise
Compare the mechanical Chamber Pressure Gauge and the Digital Display with the calibrated test gauge when the Chamber reaches the Set Pressure
Contact SECHRIST INDUSTRIES if the pressure gauges and Digital Display do not read the same (within ± 2.0 psig)
Repeat the procedure at different pressures
Repeat at 15.0 psig
1 Weekly Purge Flow Controls Check
Compression Purge Flow Rate Control Check
Record the current purge flow rate from the Purge Rate Flowmeter
Is the purge flow rate between 300 - 400 lpm at 15 psig chamber pressure?
Verify the handle is set according to the standard treatment protocol
Plateau Purge Flow Rate Control Check
Record the current purge flow rate from the Purge Rate Flowmeter
Is the purge flow rate between 80 - 400 lpm at 15 psig chamber pressure?
Verify the handle is set according to the standard treatment protocol
Chamber Purge Rate Flowmeter Check
Chamber Maintenance
Disinfection Process
Disinfect the Chamber according to the type of cases being treated and as directed by the medical staff.
Wash the Chamber and all surfaces with an approved disinfectant or mild dish washing soap
Caution
Ensure only Sechrist Industries qualified disinfectants are used for the acrylic Viewport window
