Ensure discharge has a safe place to flow

Verify no contact with body or property

Operate the pressure relief valve manually

Was the discharge area clear and safe?

Describe any issues encountered during the test

Testing performed by a licensed professional

Push the 'On/Off' button located on the right-hand side of the controller

Remove four screws securing the front panel

Remove the front panel and locate the filter at the upper right-hand corner of the water heater

Remove the air filter by pulling out the 'FILTER Pull to Clean' tab

Scrub the filter area of the air filter door with mild dish soap and a soft bristle brush

Check the water heater for any visible signs of damage

Ensure the water lines are insulated

Refer to the 'Freeze Protection' section in the manual

Manually drain the water heater if necessary

Verify the installation of drain down solenoid valves

Check the functionality of the drain down solenoid valves

Check that the burner flames evenly over the entire surface

Verify the flame burns with a clear, blue, stable flame

Review the parts breakdown of the burner for the location of the view ports

Consult the flame pattern images on page 66

Check for lint build-up on the air filter

Check for dust accumulation on the air filter

Inspect the air filter for any visible damage

Remove the air filter from the assembly

Clean the air filter using appropriate cleaning tools

Reinstall the air filter into the assembly
