Regulators Air Pressure Adjustment
WRAP RETRACT: Start at 60 psi. Adjusted so the wrap brush retracts slowly and smoothly and does not slam on the stops.
WRAP SHOOT (Move-In): 5-10psi
Important: Before making any air pressure adjustments to the regulators on the control board, you must adjust the Wraps according to the specifications in the Installation & Operations Manual for the Wraps. The Wraps must be properly adjusted before using this control system.;

Top Washer Wrap Combo Operational Adjustment
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Hand held scale available
If scale is not available, order a Straight Scale Part Number 5A354 from Grainger
Foam brush thoroughly soaked with water
Enter the measured brush weight
Adjust the weight plates to achieve a measured brush weight of 10 to 15 lbs (4.5kg to 6.8kg)
Foam end of the top washer not heavier than 15 lbs (6.8kg)
Enter the vehicle clearance
Adjust the Up Stop to allow the brush to have a vehicle clearance of 90” (2.28m). Adjust the Down Stop to allow the bottom of the brush to clear the floor by 24” (.61m)
Top Washer Wrap Combo Unit Adjustment
This wash equipment requires three tunnel controller functions
FULL SPEED ON – Ramp up equipment rotation to Full Speed when vehicle arrives at the equipment. Adjust VFD ramp time to 3 seconds. (44 to 48 Hz Full Speed)
WRAP MOVE IN – Equipment lowers to meet the vehicle for the wash process. It is important to retract the wash equipment or stop the conveyor if the VFD overload trips.
WRAP WATER ON- Water sprays on vehicle surface for lubricity.
More Aggressive vs. Less Aggressive: The more aggressive the setting of the Flex Wrap, the quicker the wrap will close and wrap around the rear of vehicles.
A unit that is set up less aggressive will not clean the backs of vehicles as good at a higher line speed. However, the more aggressive setting can cause the brushes to climb vehicles and cause damage at a lower line speed.
It should take 6 to 7 seconds for the arms to move from the retracted position to the centerline position. Initially, a little less aggressive is better than too aggressive.
During initial startup and break-in, you may be tempted to increase the aggressiveness of the machine. The new foam is relatively stiff during this time. However, as the foam breaks in, cleaning performance will increase.
Foam brushes do not require a long break-in time. Injecting soap into the water supply line will quiet the cloth, improve performance decrease break-in time, and reduce damage claims.
1 Monthly Top Washer Wrap Combo Maintenance
Check Cloth and Foam Condition
Check Bearings and Brush Shaft for Looseness
Check Motor and Gearbox Attachment
Check Hose & Fittings for Leakage
Check bolts and lags for tightness
Clean Structure (Wash Down). Wash down structure monthly or as often as necessary. Use mild soap and water. Zud works very well.
