Load Cells Check
Initial Disconnection and Resistance Check
Remove power from the system and fully disconnect each load cell.
Check for proper input/output resistances for each load cell (see Table 10-2).
Shorted-Signal Symmetry Test
Perform shorted-signal symmetry test by shorting the signal leads and measuring resistance with multimeter.
Record resistance value with lead on +Excitation wire.
Record resistance value with lead on –Excitation wire.
Are the two resistance values approximately equal?
Reconnection and Excitation Voltage Check
Shift Adjustment
WARNING: PERMIT ONLY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL TO SERVICE THIS EQUIPMENT. EXERCISE CARE WHEN MAKING CHECKS, TESTS, AND ADJUSTMENTS THAT MUST BE MADE WITH POWER ON. FAILING TO OBSERVE THESE PRECAUTIONS CAN RESULT IN BODILY HARM.
Pre-Adjustment Checks
Ensure the scale has been installed and shimmed properly.
Check all mechanical parts to ensure proper functionality.
Repeatability Check
Place a test weight on the same location on the platform and record the weight reading.
Repeat the test weight placement several times and record each weight reading.
Did the scale provide the same weight reading each time?
Load Cell Adjustment
Vertex Floor Scale Inspection
Visual Inspection
Inspect for damage
Is there any damage found during inspection?
If damage is found, describe the issues
Contact freight carrier if damage is found
IDNet Junction Box Shift Adjustment
Record weight readings at each test weight location
Are the weight readings within the desired tolerance?
Activate trim potentiometers by opening the eight hook switches on the PCB
Start adjustment at the load cell with the highest positive reading
Adjust trim potentiometers for minor adjustments
Turn trim potentiometers clockwise for a positive increase
Turn trim potentiometers counterclockwise for a negative result
Further adjust scale by turning all potentiometers counterclockwise until weight reading stabilizes
Reapply test weight(s) to the location with the highest recorded weight reading and adjust potentiometers
Analog Junction Box Shift Adjustment
Remove the access plate from the scale platform and open the junction box
Determine test weight placement based on scale capacity
Record weight readings at each location
Place test weight at location A and record the weight reading
Move test weight to location B and record the weight reading
Continue recording weight readings at each of the four locations
Adjust trimming potentiometer for load cell
Place test weight at location immediately clockwise from lowest reading
Adjust the trimming potentiometer to match the lowest weight reading
