Ensure the area around the ice machine is clear

Gather cleaning materials (mild soap, water, clean soft cloth, stainless steel wool)

Clean the area around the ice machine

Sponge dust and dirt off the outside of the ice machine with mild soap and water

Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth

Remove heavy stains with stainless steel wool

Water Fittings and Lines Inspection

Check all water fittings for leaks

Refrigeration Tubing Inspection

Ensure refrigeration tubing is not rubbing against other tubing

Check that refrigeration tubing is not vibrating against panels

Ensure nothing is placed on the sides or back of the ice machine

Verify adequate airflow through and around the ice machine

Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face shield) when handling ice machine Cleaner or Sanitizer.

Set the toggle switch to the OFF position after ice falls from the evaporator at the end of a Harvest cycle or allow the ice to melt off the evaporator.

Remove top cover for access to cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

Place the toggle switch in the CLEAN position.

Add the proper amount of ice machine cleaner after water flows over the evaporator.

Disconnect electric power to the ice machine head section and the remote condensing unit at the electric service switches

Clean the washable aluminum filter on self-contained ice machines with mild soap and water

Clean the outside of the condenser with a soft brush or a vacuum with a brush attachment

Check for dirt between the condenser fins using a flashlight

If dirt remains between the fins, blow compressed air through the condenser fins from the inside

Use a commercial condenser coil cleaner if necessary

Check that all cleaning tools and materials are removed from the site

Reconnect electric power to the ice machine head section and the remote condensing unit
