Turn the instrument OFF and remove the batteries

Allow the instrument to sit for one minute before cleaning

Choose the method for discharging the wall voltage

Clean the exterior of the Model 9-3 with a damp cloth using only water

Ensure the chamber window is not cleaned

Select chamber wall voltage option

Is the chamber wall voltage set to continuous when instrument is off?

Check battery with range switch on the ×10K position

Turn the instrument range switch to the ×1 position

Did the meter transient occur when moving selector switch from ×100 to ×10?

Allow time for the ×1 scale to stabilize

Has maintenance or adjustments been performed on the instrument?

Request calibration procedures if self-calibrating

Consider sending the instrument for professional recalibration if needed

Remove batteries if the instrument is placed into storage

Check for corrosion on battery contacts

Clean battery contacts using a baking soda and water paste if corrosion is present
