Komatsu Hydraulic Excavator PC450LC-6

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Screw in valve ① at the top of the corrosion resistor

Using a filter wrench, turn cartridge ② to the left to remove it

Coat the seal surface of the new filter cartridge with engine oil, then install it

When installing, bring the packing surface into contact with the seal surface of the filter holder, then tighten a further 2/3 turn

Always use a genuine Komatsu cartridge

Run the engine and check that there is no leakage of water from the seal surface

Sign off on the cartridge replacement

WARNING: The oil is at high temperature immediately after the machine has been operated. Wait for the oil to cool down before carrying out maintenance

NOTICE: Park the machine on flat ground and stop the engine. After waiting for more than 30 minutes after stopping the engine, check the oil level

Machine parked on flat ground and engine stopped?

Waited for more than 30 minutes after stopping the engine?

Door on the left side of the machine opened?

Plug Ⓖ removed and oil level checked?

If insufficient, was plug Ⓕ removed and oil added through the hole of plug Ⓕ up to the bottom of the plug hole Ⓖ?

If excess oil is supplied, was it drained to the specified amount to avoid overheating?

Check all tightening parts of turbocharger

Report any issues found during the check

Check play of turbocharger rotor

Report any issues found during the check

Sign off on the hydraulic excavator maintenance

WARNING: The oil is at high temperature immediately after the machine has been operated. Wait for the oil to cool down before carrying out maintenance.

Container to catch drained oil: Min. 21.5 ℓ capacity

Refill capacity: 21.5 ℓ (5.7 US gal, 4.7 UK gal)

Set a container under drain valve Ⓔ under the machine body to catch the oil

Loosen drain valve Ⓔ under the machine body, drain the oil, then tighten the drain plug again

Remove dipstick Ⓖ and air bleed plug ①, then add the specified amount of engine oil through filler port Ⓕ of the dipstick guide

NOTICE: For details of the oil to use, see “20. USE OF FUEL, COOLANT AND LUBRICANTS ACCORDING TO AMBIENT TEMPERATURE”

After adding oil, install air bleed plug ①

Wipe off the oil on the dipstick with a cloth

Carry out this procedure before operating the machine

Prepare a container to catch the fuel that is drained

Open valve ① at the bottom of the tank and drain the sediment and water that has accumulated at the bottom together with fuel

When doing this, be careful not to get fuel on yourself

When only clean fuel comes out, close drain valve ①

NOTICE: Never use trichlene for washing the inside of the tank
