- Mast Sections: Visual inspection for damage, cracks, distortion, or excessive wear. Operates properly.

- Chain Systems: Properly lubricated. Inspected per Service and Maintenance Manual.

- Sequence Cable Systems: Check for proper and secure installation. Visual inspection for damage, cracks, distortion, or excessive wear. Check for proper adjustment.

- Covers or Shields: Check for proper and secure installation.

- Sheave Systems: Check for proper and secure installation. Visual inspection for damage, cracks, distortion, or excessive wear.

- Bearings: Check for proper and secure installation. Visual inspection for damage, cracks, distortion, or excessive wear.

- Slide Pads: Check for proper and secure installation. Visual inspection for damage, cracks, distortion, or excessive wear.

Warning: Use only recommended hydraulic oils to avoid the need for regular oil changes.

Avoid mixing petroleum and synthetic base oils.

JLG Industries recommends changing the hydraulic oil annually.

If the oil must be poured from the original container into another, be sure to clean all possible contaminants from the service container.

Is the service container clean?

While the unit is shut down, a good preventive maintenance measure is to make a thorough inspection of all hydraulic components, lines, fittings, etc., as well as a functional check of each system, before placing the machine back in service.

THE USE OF NON APPROVED BATTERIES IN YOUR JLG EQUIPMENT MAY RESULT IN PERFORMANCE ISSUES OR BATTERY CHARGER FAULT CODES. JLG ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR SERVICE OR PERFORMANCE ISSUES ARISING FROM THE USE OF NON APPROVED BATTERIES.

Replacement battery(s) must be of equivalent voltage and amperage output as the OEM battery(s) in order for the machine to operate to as manufactured specifications.

Battery replacement part weight must also be equivalent to OEM per battery, in order to maintain machine stability as manufactured. (See Section-1 of this manual for battery specifications).

Is the replacement battery of equivalent voltage and amperage output as the OEM battery?

NOTE: Batteries in storage should be kept at 12.5V or higher.

Before testing for battery condition, the open circuit voltage should be taken from each battery. If the voltage of the batteries differs by 0.3 volts or more, the lower voltage battery should be replaced.

Battery Testing Can Be Performed In Two Ways:

1. The batteries can be tested using a battery tester capable of testing 12V 100Ah AGM VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) batteries, using the instructions of the battery tester manufacturer.

2. If an appropriate battery tester is unavailable, the batteries can be tested by fully charging them withthe charger that is installed on the machine. Then check the battery voltage of each battery - 4 hours - after charging is complete. Batteries less than 12.72 volts should be replaced.

NOTE: If a faulty charger is suspected, the batteries can be charged using a charger that supplies 2.45 volts/cell.

Charging should be terminated when the charge current drops below 1 amp.;
