Hoist Lubrication
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Is the load chain well oiled with SAE 30 weight oil?
Ensure that oil is worked into the area between the links.
Was the hoist disassembled for inspection or repair?
If yes, re-lubricate the moving parts according to Table 3.
CAUTION: The brake surfaces must be kept free of any trace of oil or grease.
Are the brake surfaces free of any trace of oil or grease?
Apply lubricant sparingly to the parts near the brake to avoid oil contamination of the brake.
Sign off on the hoist lubrication
1 Daily Chain Check
Check chain for wear and twist
Use calipers to check the chain for wear
Upload a photo of the chain measurement
CAUTION: If chain is worn or otherwise damaged, replace entire chain with new chain supplied by the hoist manufacturer. Do not substitute. Do not attempt to rework damaged chain.
Is the chain damaged or worn beyond the wear limit?
Sign off on the daily chain check
