Gather a soft cloth and water or a mild detergent-water solution

Ensure the scanner is not submerged in cleaning solution

Ensure no abrasive wipes or cloths are used

Ensure no solvents are used on the housing or window

Clean the scanner or base’s housing with a dampened soft cloth

Clean the scanner window with a dampened soft cloth

Wipe the scanner or base with a clean cloth dampened only with water to remove detergent residue

Rotate metal twist at bottom of battery door counterclockwise

Replace end cap and screw together

Is the scanner powering on with the new battery?

Disconnect the base’s cable from the terminal or computer

Remove the connector by applying pressure on the release clip

Insert the new cable connector into the opening and press firmly until it clicks into place

Check that the new cable is securely connected

Verify the system is functioning correctly with the new cable

Turn off the power to the host system

Disconnect the scanner’s cable from the terminal or computer

Locate the small screw at the bottom of the locking plate

Loosen the locking plate and slide it over the base of the cable connector to remove the cable from the device

Remove the O-ring from the end of the cable connection

Order replacement cables from Honeywell or an authorized distributor

Specify the cable part number of the original interface cable when ordering

Ensure the scanner is powered off before starting the replacement

Remove the screw and locking plate from the 10-pin modular connector

Detach the old interface cable from the scanner

Attach the new interface cable to the scanner

Secure the connector with the screw and locking plate
